It is hard to believe that it has been 7 years since that fateful day in September. I remember vividly where I was when I heard the news. My husband and I were just getting up to go to class at Utah State when we heard the news on our alarm clock. We immediately turned on the TV and watched the towers fall. I stood there in shock. How does something like this happen on American soil? It was like a dream. A nightmare actually. Classes were cancelled and every where you went around campus, people were glued to the TVs. That is one day I will never forget. Where were you?
A lot has changed since that day. I am so grateful for our courageous men and women who are fighting every day for the freedoms we enjoy. I have a cousin and brother-in-law who have both served time in Iraq. Thankfully they have both returned. I am grateful for the long security lines at the airports because it helps to prevent this from happening again. I am grateful for the American spirit that will not let the terrorists win. I am proud to be an American and will never forget those who were lost.
