Jacen Alex

Well, Jacen is here. We went in for a scheduled induction on Friday and I was dilated to a 5. We figured this would be an easy birth. My contractions weren't bad at all. At 9am my doctor came in to break my water and I was dilated to a 7. The contractions were close together but they still weren't bothering me. When my doctor broke my water she found an arm instead of a head. This led to about 15 minutes of her trying to get him head down. Let me tell you, that was way worse than the contractions. I still didn't have an epidural so things were not comfortable. Well, Jacen was stubborn and decided to stay transverse, so we had a c-section. He was born at 9:57 am, weighed 7 lb 9 oz, and was 20 in long. When they pulled him out the cord was wrapped around his neck twice, so we are grateful we ended up with a c-section. Who knows what might have happened if we had tried a vaginal delivery. We feel very blessed to have him here and are looking forward to a speedy recovery.

Congratulations!! Sorry about the c-section, it's a little harder recovery, but at least he's here and healthy!
